Hami's house party~
Hami's parents flew to Saudi Arabia for a month (or was it 2?) for prayers, and they left her all alone at home with her brother and sister. So this sneaky girl threw a house party at her new home that first weekend after her parents left, and while her siblings were at work. LOL. But YAY! PARTY!!!! ;D
I was the FIRST (!!!!) guest to arrive because I met Hami to help her with collecting the food for the party first. On my way out of the house!:

She insisted I watch TV, or listen to the radio etc instead of helping her set up, so I explored the empty house while she was busying herself in the kitchen. It really is a very nice house, man. Check out the pool downstairs!:

And the view out the dining room window. =O:

Hami's room she shares with her sister (I hope she doesn't kill me for this photo of her room because I really think it's nice!!!):

Big bouncy bed, big open windows, spacious area to move about AND a personal washroom. WTF. The only way I can ever build/have this kind of room is in The Sims Social on FB. -_-"' Compared to MY room, Hami's room is already luxurious enough because my room constantly looks like a tornado just tore through it. I am not exaggerating. I took a picture before and showed my colleague. HE screamed. Yes, "he". A guy. And he screamed. Yes, it's really that bad. I always get nagged by my mum about it. I DO keep it tidy, or sometimes I TRY to. But I really just have too many clothes. And too little time. When it IS tidy, it's not for long. Oh well. One day I will take a "before" and "after". HEHE.
Took a picture of myself in the dining room mirror, HA. (Note: Lovely decor!):

Laying out food and snacks!:

And last but not least, my pretty, pretty friend Hami!!!:

She was worried there wasn't gonna be enough food, so she got her boyfriend to order pizza. 6 BOXES OF CANADIAN PIZZA, PEOPLE!:
In the end, there was too much. LOL. Food galore!:

(*cupcakes photo credit to Hami's Instagram! ;)*)
What's a must-have at a house party? MONOPOLY DEAL!:
I only played one round before I got distracted by Plants VS Zombies on my phone. HEHEHE:

(*P.S: Already finished the whole game by now as I'm writing this.)
That, and ah, camwhoring in the full-length mirror in Hami's room:

Instagram + Hami's full-length mirror = love. Thank you for inviting me, Hami!!! LURVE YA!!!
The day before the party, we met up for dinner as well. Went to Changi Airport!:

After dinner, it was off to Starbucks... I LOVE sitting at Starbucks with good friends. =):

Hami Instagramed me while I was playing around with my phone, and she managed to get a classic "potato knee" picture. =.= The first thing I said when I saw that picture was, "My knee looks like a potato!!!" Made her laugh her ass off.
I had a great time spent with this girl, like always. And to end it off, I just wanna let you all know that I was blog-hopping one night (rare!) when I decided to go to Hami's blog. I was totally taken aback when I read one of her posts, because it was about me. I was like, "WHY would she write about me out of the blue????" Before I continue, I would like to stress that I was taken aback in a GOOD way. And as I read on, I couldn't help but cry because she was so sweet!!! I shall paste the blog entry here... Or likewise, you guys can hop to her blog to read the rest of her entries. =):

i want to tell the world that i am glad that i met crystal shong. she is a very good friend of mine.
i have never been the type of person to stand up against anybody if they say or do mean things to me. when anyone embarassed me or say stuff about me, i will ignore it and pretend they're not talking about me or just plain laugh at it like they were just joking. i can't believe how pathetic i was. people making fun of me and i even laughed at myself. how stupid can i be.
i met crystal in 2009 during the singtel grid girls competition. to be honest, she was the person i spoke most to during the very first meet-up of the top 40-something... i remembered we both came in late and we were the last to leave and we left the building together talking about this guy friend of hers in australia. the whole time during the competition, we didn't really talk that much cos honestly, i was abit scared of her when we got to know all of the girls abit more. funny how she is the only one i kept most in contact with after the whole thing.
i'm proud to say, i admire her. i've never met such an angry girl and a girl with alot of guts. she never lets anyone push her around nor does she give a damn about rules and when you're being an ass, she gives you shit for it. she doesn't care if the whole world hates her. she doesn't care if her friends turned their backs on her. she is a nice girl, but if you step on her toes, she is not afraid of giving you shit. i was afraid of her at first. i did not want to offend her in any way or even get really close to her. but when i get to know her, i like her. i like her attitude. the kind of attitude which i don't possess, but i wished i do. i learnt alot from her. i learnt to step up and defend myself and not let anyone push me around.
makes me realised that no one in this world is going to stand up for you. you have only yourself to depend on. when someone is being mean to you, you can't just cry home to your mother or your boyfriend. or even, god forbid, sit quietly and be emo and miserable about your life. you have to go to the person and say "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!"
i did that today and boy, am i glad i did that. I did it. no one else did it for me. I did it. everyone else said its just a misunderstanding, its just a small matter you shouldn't get too worked up about it blah blah blah blah... you are a coward and you are wrong. all i know if shit gets thrown at you, you gotta show them you can't be messed around with.
thank you crystal. you are my inspiration. :)
POSTED BY HAMI AT 6:50:00 PM"
:') If you notice the date, it was written way back in August. And I only just discovered it. She didn't even tell me! Hamizah really has a very good memory. I cannot even remember what we spoke about because it was 2 years ago. But she can! I am so touched. I have never had anyone write about me this way before, and all I can say is, FINALLY there is someone who gets me now. She is right on all counts when she says, "i've never met such an angry girl and a girl with alot of guts. she never lets anyone push her around nor does she give a damn about rules and when you're being an ass, she gives you shit for it. she doesn't care if the whole world hates her. she doesn't care if her friends turned their backs on her. she is a nice girl, but if you step on her toes, she is not afraid of giving you shit." I'm not saying it's something everyone should be and be proud of, but that is just me. And some people don't get it. But Hami does. And yeah, at first she didn't, because she had the same response as almost everyone does when they got to know me. But at the end of the day, she got it. I know maybe some other people DO get it as well, but they cannot tolerate it because they don't understand. But Hami is a different story, right? Or else she wouldn't have written that. Heh.
When I got to know Hamizah, I thought she was a very, very sweet and nice girl. I never expected us to keep in touch after our competition. But I'm real glad we did, though. There are the fake, bitchy ones in the circle (like Bobble-Head, ahem), but there are also the rare gems like Hami. Never a bad word to say about anyone, always positive, strong, always nice and always level-headed. Looks like I do have quite a bit to learn from her as well. :') And yes, I thank God for a friend like her. Hard to come by.
Thank you for writing, babe. I'm really, really glad that I met you too. =) And I really, really appreciate everything from the bottom of my heart. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
