Happy birthday, my love
It was the boyfriend's birthday on Sunday! I didn't know what to buy him (I suck at buying presents for guys) so I asked him straight up, what he wanted. He said he wanted me to cook for him, so I did! I didn't tell him what I was planning to make though, but I decided on a steak dinner. Cynthia was nice enough to get her friend Craig to teach me how to do it, and Ugin provided his kitchen for us to use. All of us worked hard for the trial dinner, and I thought they were so nice 'cos it wasn't even their boyfriend's or friend's birthday but they pitched in time and effort! ♥ Went to Giant to get ingredients/groceries first, and by the time we were done cooking and eating, it was past 11pm! But the result was good though, complete with bacon-wrapped sausages for appetizers too! Check this out!:
You like?! I LIKE! HEHEHEHEHEHE. I couldn't blog about this earlier 'cos it was supposed to be a surprise and I would totally ruin it because A reads my blog. But on the birthday on Sunday itself, I flew solo. I went to the supermarket and got my own groceries (as well as some extra potatoes and bacon and stuff from the trial dinner)...:
All in all, it was a success. I was going to do everything myself but A insisted on helping me in the kitchen. LOL. So in a way, I played cheat on the surprise dinner. HAHAHA. Luckily he was there though... Because I freaked out big-time with the spitting oil. I hate it! The aglio olio was only made with ONE chilli padi because A cannot take spicy food, but even so, he still couldn't take it! So that was a bit of a boo. =( I wrecked my brains before that for ages thinking of a side dish to go with the steak but I failed in that sense because A is such a picky eater. Taking that in mind, even the aglio olio failed. Oh well. But the mashed potatoes were rockin'. My entire house smelt like bacon after the appetizers were fried, it was awesome. =)
I actually do love cooking a lot, or learning how to cook. I love following recipes and going grocery shopping. I love it when my boyfriend eats the food I cook and I just look at his face for that approval I crave so much, and everything is worth it. =D I love you very much, baby. Happy birthday!!!! ♥♥♥

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo!
Went to the zoo again! This time with A, Cynthia, Ugin and Aydan. Aydan was the star of the trip, of course, since he's the only child. But anyone can be a kid at the zoo, and that is why I love it. And also because all my animal friends are there! I love going to the zoo!
Arose at 11am in the morning with A to prepare, and then met Cynthia and the rest for lunch at Ikea. After lunch we piled into the car and off to the zoo we go with little Aydan in the backseat with me and A, and his mum in the front seat!:

It was drizzling just a tiny bit upon arrival at Mandai but the rain let up after awhile so there was no problem at all. We saw a crocodile in the river!:

And flamingos:

I told Aydan to smile for the camera, and this is what he did:

Hmmmmmmm. Okayyyy. This is Aydan, not smiling:

If you're wondering, Aydan is 4 years old and he's half-Chinese, half-German! That's why he's so cute, hahaha. And apparently he shares 96.4% genetic makeup with the orang-utan too!:

LOL. No, I'm kiddin'. Actually we humans in general do, not just Aydan. It's just he decided to put his face in the hole! =P This is the real orang-utan!:

We even saw it up-close and personal. It passed by right under our noses, straight up by the looking glass. It was SO HUGE, I swear. And then it sat in the corner with its back to us. I tried to take a picture but it turned out like this because of the glass reflection:

You can still see a little bit of it, though. It's still huge.
The sun bear:

I don't like anything from the lizard family, hence I don't like this too:

And this?:

-_- Tortoises are fine, especially if they're emo like that:

Hehe. Fake ones are fine too!:

Malayan porcupines - Cynthia said they cannot go into... ahem, doggy position.......... HAHAHAHA:

We went to Kidzworld and saw the little horses and ponies and goats, as well as to watch the animal show. Bought a little bucket of beans and carrots to feed the goats! $2 only!:

The kids' show was kinda dull at first... It was supposed to be about animals but we watched the adults dance to hip-hop music for a good 5 minutes or so...:

I didn't get it. I still don't. But I had to remind myself that it's a kids' show and kids don't ask for much as long as it's song and dance. =S Aydan fixated on the show:

Me and A (I know it's ugly to mosaic faces but I kinda have no choice, heh):

Finally the dogs came out!:

That's Faith, jumping rope. Her sister is white, and her name is Hope (if I didn't get all these wrong). Both of them were given up by their owner. I don't know the reason why, but I don't understand why someone would want to give up such sweet and adorable dogs. It almost makes me want to cry.

Didn't get this Border Collie's name, but it ran back inside and refused to jump hoops after the thunder rolled because of the rainy weather. This is Hope, and she's my favourite:

She looks like she possesses springs in her paws, the way she jumps. I melted. <3 Shay catching Frisbees:

The Frisbees were all ruined with his chewing but apparently they still could soar just as fine!:

Look at the way Faith is looking at her trainer. UNWAVERING, in every sense of the word. Even when people were petting her all over, her eyes stayed on her trainer. I was in awe. With my favourite dog of the show, Hope:

Those are the saddest eyes, ever. It was Hope's eyes that made me want to look at her full in the face, so I cupped my hand under her chin and lifted her head a little to have a better look, but her trainer suddenly said, "Er please don't push her head." Even as I'm writing this, I'm super pissed. Push her head? Really? It was the gentlest nudge I gave, I didn't even push the dog's head. Why would I push her head for no apparent reason? Really felt like pushing the trainer's head to show her just what "push" really means. Idiotic and so damn uptight. I understand if you'd tell that to a kid because they don't know better, but telling it to an adult like me. Huh. Maybe you should just go back to school and learn the difference between "push" and "nudge" all over again. >:-( ANGRY.
With Shay (at least his assigned trainer was a little more polite):

With A again:

We went to watch the Splash Safari show after that:

Didn't get many good pictures of that show because I chose to sit in the front on purpose and didn't want my camera to get wet. I obviously knew it was the splash zone, and so did all of my friends but they were fine with it too. Aydan didn't know, and that was kinda the whole purpose. HAHA. He got angry when he got wet, though. Oops. It was funny at the same time because when the water came and landed all over us, he frowned like mad and shouted, "Wah lau eh!! 这个可恶的东西!!!!" AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I laughed like crazy, because it was damn funny coming from a 4-year-old! Subsequently whenever the sealion went into the water, Aydan grabbed Cynthia and Ugin on either side of himself and shut his eyes tight, like he was on a roller-coaster ride and he wanted it to end fast. Even when the sealion went into the water to swim and not splash, Aydan didn't want to look. LOL! He missed out all the good parts! We all got wet, so Aydan didn't get too mad because he wasn't the only one. A said to me, "Smart right! Sit in front!" HAHA! The water stained my dress with faint patches (dirty water!) but it was all good fun. Later on I said to Aydan, "Didn't you say you were hot just now? Now not hot already lah!" It really was the perfect way to cool down, even though I saw an auntie washing her hands in the dirty water before the show. -_- Typical Singaporean, man. Zzzz.
More orang-utans in the trees, this time a mother and her baby!:

One of them swung from the rope, sat on it and then briefly looked down at us. Next thing I knew, it was raining orang-utan urine!!! OMFG. Thank God none of us got "lucky". LOL. I was afraid to run past to the other side for fear of getting aimed this time round, but I managed anyway. And luckily we got over to the other side soon enough, because the orang-utan pooped straight after and the poop fell into the bushes. Gross much!

The King of the Jungle:

So I guess this makes the lioness the queen:

An Indian toddler put his hand on my hip and ran it down my butt in front of the puma's enclosure. I thought it was A, but when I turned around and saw the toddler with his dad holding on to his other hand, I was hopping mad. His parents didn't even make him say sorry. I don't care if he's a kid, I care more about my modesty and my body. Bloody motherfucker. I hate kids who touch strangers anyhow. May his dick rot from the inside! >:-( Parents didn't even apologise on his behalf... If the parents already lack manners, it's no wonder the kid does too!
Our last destination was the snake house. Saw lots and lots of snakes!:

Damn fucking huge snake! If I read and remembered correctly it's 9.5m long!:

*shudders* I don't mind snakes if they're fed and non-venomous. I've taken pictures with snakes over my shoulders before but that's just too huge!

Snapping turtle, so ugly:

Probably the most famous and poisonous snake of them all, THE KING COBRA:

Aydan wanted to check out the kangaroos and white tigers after that, but it was already late by then and one zookeeper (might I add, another rude one) told us they brought the animals in by 6pm. So we left and went for dinner across the border in Johor Bahru. Went to City Square and had stonegrill:

It was yummy. My first time having stonegrill! My favourite was the lamb (apart from beef and chicken). Will definitely go back there next time round to try the salmon. The people behind this brilliant idea?:

Haha. Walked around City Square after that... Was hoping to shop, but the fashion there was TERRIBLE. Luckily I didn't change any RM. Everything was so tacky and shitty. No offence, I'm sorry. But it was BAD. Some of the salesgirls were looking at me in my black maxi-dress, and I was asking A, "Why are they looking?" He said, "Because they don't have this kind of fashion here." Kinda true, that. LOL. And speaking of "this kind of fashion" (which I think is wayyy better, by the way), I got my maxi-dress kindly sponsored by Clothes&People! I love maxi-dresses; it makes you look tall and dressy and you settle your top and bottom outfit all at once! Don't even need to think of mixing and matching! Convenient, I like! ^_^
Ended up buying J.Co Donuts only, because they were slightly cheaper than Singapore:

I still prefer Donut Factory, though. Was dog-tired after like, a 12-hour day out. I think I'm getting old. Concussed right after my shower, a massage from A and one donut. LOL. To be honest I've been to the zoo so many times, and I wouldn't say this time round was one of the most fruitful trips because so many areas were under construction. =/ Well, I suppose there's always next time!
