Jakarta

Hello wello! I'm back from Jakarta! My first time there with Agri and Vell. That place is truly a shithole. =X But I'm still glad I went because I like to go to places I've never been to before! An experience is an experience, after all. Luckily I didn't stay TOO long... I feel so fortunate that I'm staying in Singapore, 'cos I can walk in the streets at 2am in the morning and not worry too much about my own safety, or not get into cabs and get taken somewhere else instead of my intended destination. =S Freaky. OR have to maneuver my way around dirty streets. Okay, enough.

My flight was super early in the morning, at 7.40am. So I was at the airport by 6.30. Changi Airport at dawn:

The last time I saw this scene at this time, I was at the airport waiting for Jolin Tsai. HAHAHA! We almost missed our flight because Agri insisted on breakfast. It was a mad rush to the gate! We were the last 3 passengers. =X Waiting for take-off:

Singapore from above the skies:

I love flying above the clouds very much!!!!! =D =D Maybe Heaven looks something like this. ^_^:

Landing in Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport:

Vell insisted on having A&W's root beer float, so we sat at A&W while waiting for Alex's friend to meet up with me so he could pass me the ticket to Hooba's gig. I'm not a big fan of sweet stuff so I didn't get any A&W but I posed with Vell's drink, does it count? =P:

Poor Vell got diarrhea from that root beer. =/ I only had one sip. We got a cab to Agri's friend's home to see her newborn baby boy. He was less than one month old and so very, very tiny. I haven't seen such a tiny little baby in ages. But he was sweet, he kept smiling at all of us when he wasn't crying. It made me want my own baby for like, a split second. HA. Agri's friend was very nice, she bought us all fragrant rice!:

I was so darn tired 'cos I was so excited that I didn't sleep the night before my flight, and I fell asleep on the couch. =( Agri's friend was very kind, though. She opened up her guest room for me to sleep in, and I had an hour's nap before we got her driver to send us for a massage at the spa. I am so grateful! The massage was good, plus a milk scrub. And I came out having baby soft skin, although the process of that was kinda painful! By that time, it was nearing evening so we went back to the apartment of another one of Agri's friends, where we had a big guest room all to ourselves. I asked Agri who this friend was, she said her name is Raline and she was Miss Indonesia. Well, I didn't manage to meet Raline 'cos she was out when we came, and I didn't stay there the first night. And then the second night, we came home late but Raline wasn't even home yet, and then the following morning was already my departure. I just did a Google search............. Check this out:

That's Raline Shah. WHY THE HECK IS SHE SO HOT! Hahaha! OMG! I kinda secretly thank God I didn't get to meet her because I would feel sooo intimidated, man!!!! I swear!

I went for Hooba's gig alone while Agri and Vell went for dinner with their friends. I was kinda dismayed at the fact that smoking was allowed inside Hard Rock Cafe. So much for insisting on a long shower to feel and smell great. (T_T) My hair smelled like SHIT at the end of the night! Argh! There were these 2 event girls promoting L.A. Lights cigarettes at the entrance, and they were hot. They kept looking at me and smiling, so I looked back and smiled back but they wouldn't stop looking?! Awkward max! I ordered a mojito for myself.... Wrong move. Almost fell asleep swaying on my feet 'cos the alcohol made me so sleepy! Hahaha. But it was all good. The gig was acoustic, and it was great. ^_^ Plenty of pics and videos!:

You can't see Chris 'cos he's always being blocked by his drum set. LOL.

I was left the next morning with memories to keep and... this:

Such an ugly stamp on my hand. =.=

The fishies in the lobby of our apartment!:

They turned out to be Agri's best friends:

I slept late 'cos I only came back in the day, and it was a mad rush to Mangga Dua Mall for shopping before they closed at 6pm. We had mee soto too. It's really weird eating mee soto at a stand-alone store in the middle of a storey and then the next stand-alone store is selling clothes. -_- I tried not to look at the way they prepared their food 'cos if I did, I wouldn't be able to eat in peace.

During closing-time in the mall, I got kinda intimidated by what transpired out of the blue. Suddenly all the dirt and debris was swept into the corridors (food and cloth, scotch-tape and what-not) and I kept stepping on unidentified gross stuff under my sandals while attempting to navigate myself around. It was fucking icky and I had no time to look down to see just what I stepped on. And suddenly there were tons and tons of shoes laid out on the floor for sale. LOL. The air-conditioning was already off by then, and really, I did NOT understand a single word of Bahasa Indonesia. It was a mess. The shoes, the yelling people, the dirt. They didn't care if I understood what they were trying to say, they were hard-core, hard-sell. HAHA. They'd just shove a pair of shoes (usually hideous-looking) in your face and prattle off in Bahasa Indo. THANK GOD Agri was born in Jakarta and she had no problems speaking the language. Thanks to her, I managed to get a pair of black rubber gladiator sandals for SGD$5. =P

We went off to another mall nearby and got Ben & Jerry's ice-cream before heading off for a foot massage. But then we ended up getting stuck in a factory outlet store, where I came out with an Aeropostale t-shirt and a pink Aeropostale hoodie. Both at less than SGD$20 altogether!!!! Well, with defects of course... But you can hardly tell! I love the colours. ^_^ Finally it was foot massage time....... And my masseuse pissed me off. She kept speaking to me in Bahasa Indo, and I kept saying, "No speak Indo, speak English??" She shouted at me, "No speak English!!!!!! Speak Indo!!!" And Agri was outside with Vell 'cos there weren't enough chairs, so she couldn't help me translate. (T_T) To top it off, my masseuse had sweaty palms. OMFG. And I wasted my money because I came out feeling the same. Zzzzzz. Bad experience! Obviously I didn't even bother to tip her.

Dinner for me was tomyam seafood. They come in little portions, man. =/ And THIS drink is so damn addictive, I had to have it with every meal!:

Tehbotol! It's jasmine tea. Felt left out during dinner with those 2 best friends, so I occupied myself watching the videos I took of the gig on my camera. The following morning, I woke up to go to the airport. Slapped on some makeup and went downstairs with my luggage to wait for the cab that reception called for me:

I waited so damn long!!! I was so anxious that I was going to get stuck in a notorious jam which is very common in Jakarta and miss my flight. But LUCKILY, I didn't. Didn't sleep well, so I slept on the plane... even though the sky was this beautiful:

Found my way to my gate with hardly any problems. I'm so proud of myself! HAHAHA. I was so tired that I dreamt while sleeping on the flight, you know!!! And I kinda mumbled to myself, FML! LOL!!! I was alone! So embarrassing!!!

I'm back home now, lots of things to deal with. No more holidays for now. =( Goodnight everyone.
