I hardly celebrate Mother's Day, just like I hardly celebrate Christmas or birthdays. Don't ask me why, my family is a weird one. So it was something out of the norm when Les Affaires invited me and a plus one to their Brand Ambassadors Party, sponsored by FAVE Nails. Since it was 9th May, I brought my mum along for a rare Mother's Day treat.









The day started with a presentation by Nancee, a representative from DECLEOR who talked to us about understanding skin care needs:

The goodie bag consisted of a FAVE menu booklet, DECLEOR brochures as well as a DECLEOR mini eye-cream and face-cream. I tried out a sample of their AROMESSENCE™ face care products, and it smells great. It should rightfully do as well, since it's a product formulated with a cocktail of essential oils from plants.

There was a little yummy spread of food waiting for us too:







The Les Affaires ambassadors (ahem... like, me? LOL) also had a sneak preview of the upcoming Summer Collection. Blending the latest cosmopolitan styles with functionality, Les Affaires combines materials of the highest quality to produce sleepwear guaranteed to intimately embrace the skin. There is more emphasis on the flowiness of each outfit in this collection. I picked one out to try, and I know I'm a girl but I'm not always in the mood for pink. However, this dress I had on was totally different!:





I really felt like I could go to sleep right away in that dress. It felt like home. =) I actually wore it through the entire day because it was just too comfortable! I bet the other Ambassadors felt the same way with their outfits too. ;):





I had the chance to check out the rest of the Les Affaires Summer collection with the brochure included in their goodie bag (along with a free cupcake tee!!) and I just really love each and every one of the outfits. Every time I turn a page, I tell myself, "I want this." And I end up wanting everything in that brochure because they are all so equally pretty.

You'd think that's all for a girly affair, but noooo. We also had free manicures by FAVE Nails! I love manicures, and this particular manicure service by FAVE Nails was a little bit different; it was more special because besides having my nails shaped, buffed, trimmed and patted dry, I was also treated to a "7 Days to Beautiful Hands" masque. A hand masque?? Yes, I know! I've never had it before either. LOL.

First they scrubbed my hands with Skin Polish containing sea salts and natural marine nutrients for skin cell renewal and whitening. Then they applied an advanced hydrating crème that can be reactivated by contact with water. That means you can simply rinse your hands to re-moisturize your skin anytime! It's like magic. :O An absorption-enhancing masque is then applied over the hydrating crème to enhance and maximize moisture retention while I have my manicure done:











What do you get in the end?? Pretty nails and softer hands to boot! =D:

She told me all about the details after that, like a kid right out of a candy store. According to her, it was rejuvenating, to say the least. Attended Pitbull's concert with Constance and Nicole on Tuesday. It wasn't too bad. Lots of hip-hop remixes before he actually came on-stage, like finally. I didn't bother taking a lot of pictures 'cos they were crappy anyway! Inquisitive opening for the show:

If I'm asked the question, "What do you think is your best feature?" Without hesitation, I would tell you, "My eyes!" *blinks peepers at you* Every time I apply makeup, I would play up my eyes to make them stand out. So that explains why I pile on the eyeliner and the black eyeshadow. And nobody can forget about fake lashes. However, I do get lazy sometimes, but Angel Xin Beauty provided me with the perfect solution: eyelash extensions!

It was my first time ever, getting eyelash extensions. I had my doubts about it, but it was a fast and painless process. I had to go without eye makeup, but after I was done with the process and looked into the mirror, I realised fuller lashes were all I needed to look brighter! This is my "before":

Come to think of it, I've been doing modelling and all these events and what-not since 2003. Age is catching up with me, in the world of modelling at least. I guess that also explains why I haven't been getting/doing much events lately. HA. People think standing all days in heels looking pretty is an easy job, but when I first started out, I would get cramps in my feet after each day, and sometimes it gets so tiring that I go home to cry. I didn't know anything about angles, didn't know how to walk in heels. In the past, I was sooo enthusiastic about everything, and I would go all out for a job. But now I can't say I can. It depends, really. Somewhere along the line, I lost a little of the passion and enthusiasm, plus they always use Caucasians anyway. Reading this email exchange all over again just pisses me off soooo badly. You can see that I already stated right from the beginning that I don't do bikini or lingerie, and I was trying to be professional because I genuinely wanted to see his works, that's why I asked for his portfolio. It's not so easy, yet not so difficult to happen to work with colleagues who are all awesome. But I did! Worked for Martell Cordon Bleu with Constance, Elynn and Mable on Tuesday. The job was the most boring one, ever. But thank God my colleagues were fun. Our job was basically the same as the servers, but I secretly think we were redundant 'cos the servers were all milling around and doing everything. So we ended up nipping macaroons and other bites from the passing trays. LOL. Shhh. I just had to, because that was really my first macaroon, ever. And we took a lot of lame pictures!:

It's not so easy, yet not so difficult to happen to work with colleagues who are all awesome. But I did! Worked for Martell Cordon Bleu with Constance, Elynn and Mable on Tuesday. The job was the most boring one, ever. But thank God my colleagues were fun. Our job was basically the same as the servers, but I secretly think we were redundant 'cos the servers were all milling around and doing everything. So we ended up nipping macaroons and other bites from the passing trays. LOL. Shhh. I just had to, because that was really my first macaroon, ever. And we took a lot of lame pictures!:
