No Doubt and Beyonce rocks more than F1!

F1 Rocks! Singapore - Day Two

So Day One was A-Mei and Jacky Cheung. Euurgghhh. I didn't think I would ever get to see No Doubt on Day Two, but thanks to NADIA, I did! Actually Herbert gave me the link to Nadia's Puma blog, where there was a free pair of tickets to give away. All you had to do was leave a comment. I left one off the top of my head, and I never ever expected to get picked. But I did! I think my eyeballs just crossed over when I saw my name right there. Thanks Nadia! And Puma! And Herbert for giving me the link in the first place! =)

I brought Hamizah along because Rachel couldn't make it at the last minute. Hamizah likes music too, I know, that's why I invited her to come along. We were one of the early-birds at Fort Canning Park, so we bought beers and sat in the grass:

Thanks Hami, for the beer. =) Right before the first act.......:

........ Which was N.E.R.D!:

I got all these blurry pictures of Pharrell because he was jumping around so much. =S But he was DOPE. And I have a video!:

She Wants To Move

N.E.R.D was so unexpectedly GOOD, and even though Hami and I were in the first row, we ended up drenched in so much pespiration - the effects of being in the mosh pit and jumping like mad people... Check out how gross I looked:

All that hair plastered to our necks! Hami wouldn't stop laughing at me; she said I looked like I just had a shower. As usual, my bag became a dustbin for all that tissue paper I used up. Thank God I brought a lot. I expected it... I had like, 6 packets. Maybe more. =S

The next 2 acts were Simple Minds and Z.Z Top. I have never heard of them in my entire life, so it was helluva boring for like over 2 hours. There was this fat white chick next to me with long hair parted down the middle. She had braces and body odour. And she was rocking out to those 2 unknown bands for all she was worth. The smell of her body odour and sweaty scalp assaulted my nostrils. I almost died. I could feel the ground beneath me shaking because she was head-banging and stomping her foot, all by herself. Scary. The 2 hours was broken by a pleasant surprise when they announced over the speakers that LINDSAY LOHAN was gonna be making an appearance to record video links for the concert, since it was aired "live" to more than 183 countries worldwide. I went mad, jumping up and down and clutching Hami like there was no tomorrow. Lindsay Lohan!!!!!

Well, if you know me immensely well, you'd know that I adore Lindsay Lohan. I watched The Parent Trap and then I was hooked. I watched it so many times until I could recite the lines. The scene where the twins gambled with each other at camp: "I'll take a whack at it.", the scene where Hallie took Annie's clothes away while she dived into the lake naked as forfeit: "Fine, if that's the way you want it, then let the games begin.", the one where the camp instructor got confused with them both when she offered strawberries at the buffet table: "Oh, no. I'm allergic.", the one where a big strong wind ruined Hallie's poster: "You don't know who Leo DeCaprio is?", and the one after they exchanged identities and Hallie was on the plane to the mother: "Please like me, please, please like me." OKAY. I am blabbering. But you get my point. So anyways. Lindsay appeared first on stage and then to my immense excitement, I saw the crew setting up cameras right in front of me, below the stage. AND I was so close to Lindsay!!! Plus, imagine my nirvana when she turned around and flashed me the brightest smile when I called her name and waved like a mad woman. YAYNESS for this:

PRETTY!!!:

Oops for the sheer tights, you can see the tags, even!:

Okay, so she has not much of an ass to speak of, but she's still gorgeous. I took this video of her recording video links, on stage AND off stage:

I know, you can hear the rude comments people were shouting at her, boo-ing her and telling her to go home, or demanding for the next act (which was BORING Z.Z Top), etc. I was so frustrated... Here Lindsay Lohan is, right here in Singapore, and she's trying to do a good job of what she's been paid to do... And there those asses are, making fun of her and throwing their glowsticks in her direction. I mean, she is a Hollywood star. She can jolly well reject the invitation and not come. But she was graceful enough to accept it, and yet some people at the concert sadly, weren't as graceful to welcome her to a country she's never been to before. This is the kind of reception Singapore can give. I'm ashamed. I mean, seriously... She's nice, isn't she? Someone took this video at the show:

She's adorable. The moment was broken when someone threw a glowstick at her, though. Sorry, Lindsay. You know there are people here who love you too. I just hope with this kind of reception, it won't make a bad impression on her and make her not come again. It was rumoured that she brought Paris Hilton along as well but ahhhh no!!! I didn't see her. =(((

Counting down to No Doubt!:

Hami and I waited for ages for this one, really. And apparently, so did the rest of Fort Canning!:

I love No Doubt, and seeing Gwen Stefani performing 'live' right in front of me (so close!) made me love her even more. CHECK OUT HER ABS, and yes! - she's a mother of two!! Gives us hope, haha:

Videos GALORE!!!:

Hella Good (Keep On Dancing)

Underneath It All

Ex-Girlfriend

Hey Baby

Running

This song made me tear, because there is no better way to relate to what I keep inside now other than through a song. ='(:

Me
I'm the one you chose
Out of all the people
You wanted me the most
I'm so sorry that I'm falling
Help me up, let's keep on running
Don't let me fall out of love........................

Don't Speak

YUPPPP, I took all those videos. ;) I love the quirky way she dances. And I think Gwen Stefani is the only one by far who always looks good in red lipstick. If you noticed, she changed her bra from a hot pink one to a lime green one halfway through her set because she was perspiring so much! LOL. During the encore set, the drummer came out in his underwear!:

Errrr.......... -__-"' That is not a nice image. N.E.R.D and No Doubt brought a lot of fun to me and Hami, we were desperately searching for a vending machine to get a drink right after, while rushing for the last train all at the same time. I only arrived home at 2am!

F1 Rocks! Singapore - Day Three

Race day, Day One. =.= No, I didn't take any pictures because I couldn't be bothered......... We're always in the same uniform, and I'm always in the same hair - there's nothing to see! There were a lot of unpleasant incidents with the management though, which really annoyed a whole lot of us, just that not everyone is like me... 'Cos like Avril Lavigne wrote in her song and I agreed: "We've all got choices, we've all got voices, stand up make some noise, stand up make some noise!" Right on. One of the "unpleasant incidents" caused me to be LATE for my concert, so in other words, yes I missed the Black Eyed Peas' performance. *insert whole string of vulgarities here for you-know-who/what* Rachel and I got free passes from the Peas because we know people~~~ *aHeM* By the time I arrived at Fort Canning Park, I heard the Peas going, "Thank you, we're the BLACK! EYED! PEAAAAAS!!!!" And the crowd cheering. And the end. Rachel was supposed to give me my pass when I arrived but as usual, there was a whole lot of miscommunication and I was using my dad's old-school Nokia phone with the cranky battery that was running low 'cos my old phone died on me completely... blah blah. I waited out there for 30 whole minutes. By the time I ended up in the grass with Raj, Joel and Suren, it was with frayed nerves and a heavy heart made heavier with some private stuff going on, so much so that I hid my face and cried for 5 minutes.

Beyonce was only scheduled to be out at midnight, and in between that time till then, a DJ was spinning and people were dancing and stepping all over everyone else sitting. Rachel was working for Heineken so she wasn't hanging out with us. Polaroid from Heineken:

I told myself I might watch awhile of Beyonce and then go for the after-party with the Black Eyed Peas opposite at the National Museum before hurrying home, but then I ditched all that when Beyonce made her grand entrance with this!:

Crazy In Love

MY GOD, I got goosebumps!!!!!!! My jaw dropped, everyone was in a frenzy for Beyonce Knowles. Really, she was so good. SO GOOD. The first note she hit was.... phwoar, amazing. She's such an amazing 'live' performer, a true entertainer, you know? I can't believe I actually saw people leaving after the Black Eyed Peas, choosing not to stay for Beyonce. This dude even offered me his pass. Like, whoa, they soooo missed out on all that booty-shaking! And a whole load of picture-taking (some blur, sorry, but some not!)!:

I can get better pictures when she's not moving much, like during the slow ballads:

And there's an angel. =):

And this is one of my favourite songs of all time:

Irreplacable

At 0:20 into the video, she looked so amazed that we could sing the song so well. And I felt so proud when she said, "That was so beautiful." See, she should have come to Singapore ages ago! We're hardcore, just that no one really knows this little red dot of an island, right?! The last train was at 1.15am, and I was debating with myself in my head if I should just go to the after-party or stay at the show. But Beyonce was so good, so I stayed!

Single Ladies

Beyonce made black leotards look sexy. There was even a video clip before the song, a compilation of a few YouTube videos of people dancing to Single Ladies - boys, girls, men, women, fat people, even a dog barking to the song. Oh, and Justin Timberlake! Yes, in a black leotard. HA. It's the 'in' thing right now!

Beyonce made a tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson...:

She sang Halo, and people were crying. I was too, but I told myself NO, or I'd have sucky makeup for the after-party later. I MISS MJ, though. =(

The end of an AMAZING performance:

Goodbye, Sasha Fierce!:

Pascal got us into the after-party venue, and I realised we were right in the middle of a barricaded area, the VIP section. Will.I.Am was spinning then:

Taboo hanging out:

And we saw Printz!!!!!!:

Holy shit, it's been 2 long years. He was so, so, so happy to see us. I almost got the air knocked out of me. Ha.

Rachel, Joel and me:

With Taboo!:

I look all sweaty because of Beyonce's concert! With apl.de.ap:

Will.I.Am took a break from DJ-ing to dance for the crowd:

And Rachel got herself drunk on vodka straight from the bottle too, and danced for the crowd as well. -___________-:

The vodka worked its "magic" and Rachel threw up all over herself, we had to leave the party early and send her home, and I got her puke on my arm. Fucking gross. Poor taxi driver. I only arrived home at 4am, slept at 5 and woke up at 7 for the last day of the F1 race. Yes, I know. What a good friend I am... Too bad people don't appreciate it. _|_

I had a lot of fun at F1 Rocks, though. I haven't had so much fun at a concert in a long time. I just wish things were better at all fronts, but sadly no. I shall not talk about it. Oh, and I am glad F1 is over. Nothing much to update on, except we saw a certain someone's "humility" (she keeps coming back to read my blog, I shall satisfy her craving) and I held the Germany flag for Timo Glock, if you were wondering. During the drivers' little meet-and-greet on the tracks, I held the pole for Kazuki Nakajima:

Nico Rosberg was on my left, he's kinda okay-looking... Quite cute in a way but kinda unfriendly too. I barely noticed Nakajima, sorry! Hamilton was diagonally on my right, and I couldn't stop alternating my vision from him to Nico and back and forth. Hamilton is by far the only driver I've seen who's always smiling at all times. I didn't catch even a glimpse of Jensen Button or Mark Webber because they were behind me somewhere on the tracks and I wasn't supposed to turn around. It was an eye-opener seeing the mechanics get the F1 cars ready for the race, and my eardrums almost split into two. Once, I jumped right out of my skin from them revving their equipment and what-not. They were LOUD. As you all might have already known, 3rd place is Alonso (his face was AS BLACK AS THUNDER), 2nd Timo Glock and 1st Lewis Hamilton. Maybe he broke some hearts along the way too, because Nicole Scherzinger made her appearance on the tracks as well... Obviously they're back together. Some of the girls got so excited about seeing Nicole, but silly me, I didn't even notice until it was all over! The girls on the tracks - try recognising me by my butt when I can't even recognise myself (I don't know if I'm even in the picture!):

Well, so the race and everything else that comes with it before and after, is finally over. O-V-E-R. You don't know how much I've lost throughout this whole thing. I've lost a lot, and I've sacrificed more. Someone broke my heart in the process as well, something I believe could have been avoided if I had more time. But I didn't.... sadly. It was a whole mix of complications; that's not the whole reason though, but ah well. It's complicated... When is life ever not? Drama stalks me. I hate it. *RoLLs eYeS* I wish things were simpler, a lot of the time, I really do.

OVER. AND OUT.
