Resemblance of a life

I still have no news of Cookie... I miss him everyday, think of him everyday... I want to thank all of those people who've been helping me out, whether you chose to do it without my knowledge or whether you came with me to search... And those people who spoke up for me on my tagboard - thanks a billion. It's nice to see strangers lending a helping hand... If not for me, then for a little adorable puppy by the name of Cookie who doesn't deserve to have his life work out this way.

I've been searching for him since that very day I knew... Day and night, everyday... I lost weight running around, stopping only for dinner... And then one day I slowly depended on my friends to help me in my search while I took a breather because I needed some sense in me.

So, events that happened in between... First of all, a job at Bacchus Waterboat House at Fullerton for AAL's Breakbulk Party. A shipping company had a dinner, and we only had to take pictures with the guests. I was working with this girl named Debby. She was nice. Was in need of a silver dress but couldn't find one. Paul managed to borrow one for me at the last minute from his friend, but it was a Size 8 and I wear 6, so it was kinda loose. I had no problem with it though, until I discovered a hole in the stitching on the waist. I swear to God it wasn't me. The dress is loose, not tight. I couldn't have tore a hole in it. Luckily my belt covered it up but it slipped out now and again and I had to push it back into the belt. I think I was rigidly walking around for the rest of the night just so the hole wouldn't be seen.

A little bit of the buffet:

The view was marvellous (maybe all because of the Singapore Flyer!):

Actually the job was so easy. Other than taking pictures when we were needed, we could do whatever else we wanted. Had a break and ate some food. Look at the pasta on my plate:

Seriously I haven't met someone who loves pasta as much as I do. Ate on the rooftop with Debby and Cris, who was also working at reception. Rachel was also doing something similar, but at the Asians Civilisations Museum opposite. She came over to look for me after her job and I was so happy to see her because I needed my bestie since I was swimming in so much shiate at that point in time (still am). Paul was tipsy by then, and he kept on teasing me about the only glass of beer he got me that I hadn't even finished, on top of calling everyone "cunt" and "bitch". Holy. I didn't want to drink, and I told him so. He said they don't hire people who don't drink, so next time he won't give me jobs. I think he was kiddin', but if he wasn't, then hey... I really don't care. It doesn't matter much to me because I'm not going to change myself just to get jobs... Especially when the reason is as lame as, "You don't drink." Anyway I think it was just a tipsy Paul talking, nobody minded too much! Pictures with the guests:

Us with a guest and the boss of the company, Olivia:

Olivia is a nice lady. I have never worked with her before, I don't know her, she just hired me for the job through Paul. But as we were eating at the rooftop, she came up and gave us all thank you cards with a personalised message. Here's mine:

So sweet of her, isn't it?

The guy next to me was the cutest for the night, out of them all!:

Me and my mad partner, Debby:

Work ended at 11plus and I took the late train home. I was sitting on the bench waiting for the train while I SMSed my mother to tell her I was on my way home, and then this guy walked past me and said, "Hello!" I looked up and just stared at him with no expression. I thought he was one of the guests at the party and he recognised me but he wasn't. So I ignored him, but he continued in a matter-of-factly tone, "You're quite cute!" And then he sat next to me. I groaned inwardly and remembered thinking, "Oh GAWD, go away please." But of course he didn't. He tried to make conversation with me, but I didn't even bother looking at him as I mumbled one-word replies. When the train came, I pretended to be absorbed in my SMSing and got on the train through a different door from him. I took a 2-seater, and then just when I was about to settle down to play with my PSP, he came over and asked, "May I sit here?" I didn't have time to protest before he planted his annoying ass next to me, again. Geeez, obviously he didn't get the hint did he? He said to me, "My eyelashes longer than yours." So I shot him a look and said, "HUR." He told me he worked at Fullerton Hotel after he found out I just came from an event at Fullerton, and he said if I am free, I could go look for him at reception and he would bring me to view the suites. .................... Okay, I don't wanna read too much into that but all in all, he was really annoying. So I text my friend to get him to call me, and less than a minute into the conversation, Mr. Annoying finally got the hint and told me, "I sit there, I sit there." And then he changed seats, I don't know to where. I didn't want him to know where I stayed in-case he didn't get down before me, so I didn't even look back as I got off the train from another exit far away and walked as fast as my legs could carry me. HATE people like that.

It was Gregory's 24th birthday celebration at Attica on Saturday (out of the many), so Rachel and I went since we promised Greg we would. As usual, in a club where the music is loud, you have to lean in to talk. The night passed with Rachel spitting saliva in my face whenever she tried to talk to me. There was a hen party next to our table, and the bride-to-be had her "Princess" sash upside-down while all of them had tiaras on their heads. No, didn't see any male strippers. Speaking of male strippers, I am kinda sad I missed Thunder from Down Under at Zirca. They didn't look too appealing on the promo posters and Rachel said they were gay (I don't know how reliable that piece of news is), so I didn't go. Plus the tickets were quite expensive, especially if you bought the VIP ones to party with them. But I saw the performance clips on YouTube, and I have to say, they're SEXY. And I missed it. I checked out their sexy website, and I think this is one of my favourites - Ben H!:

Didn't think he came to Singapore, though... They have 3 different touring troupes. Next time if I ever go to Las Vegas, I'm not gonna be that dumb anymore. -_-

Anyway, pictures from Gregory's party:

Attica has gotta be the smokiest club ever, that's why my pictures are blur. The smoke machines must have been on at full blast. I didn't get drunk 'cos my mum warned me not to. And Gregory was saying, "Eh you okay? I don't wanna push you home in a trolley again you know." -_-"' Went to McDonald's for a meal with Rachel before we took separate cabs home. Once again, happy birthday Greg!

Brought Gucci to the vet the other day. I insisted on an X-Ray since he started dripping blood again, just slightly. The last time it happened, Dr Ly said he was rubbing himself too much 'cos he was itching. But I told him I didn't see him rubbing, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't bladder stones and he didn't need an operation, so an X-Ray it was. I wasn't allowed in the X-Ray room, so I stood waiting in the consultation room while they carried him away. Gucci was looking at me like I was bringing him to be exterminated. That poor fella. But he turned out all fine. Apparently the problem is not bladder stones (thank God) but a swollen prostate. He was given some antibiotics, so I think he'd be alright. Bought Tambun biscuits on the way home, supposedly famous ones from Balestier:

Ended up giving it all to my parents 'cos I don't really fancy pastries or that sort of thing.

Last but not least, I did an event with Leanne, Hui Yi and Cindy yesterday. It was for some Asian Shipping and Workboat thingy... or something. We went for a fitting before the event, only to be told later we were gonna be wearing jumpsuits. O_O Now you know how difficult it is to look flattering in a jumpsuit. They had their official opening with a lion dance performance:

Sorry, I know I got all the bad angles. Our job was to give out goodie bags and unveil the new ship engine. This:

Then they got the Iron Men to perform, and they made them wear silver tights too. As impressive as their performance was... SILVER + TIGHTS = nobody knows where to put their eyes. X_X:

Ultimate wedgie, guy on top! Eeeewwwww!:

This was the most challenging stunt for them:

Me and my colleagues - Cindy, Hui Yi and Leanne (and our silver jumpsuits!). Are you ready for outer space? =.=:

With Ryan, who gave us the job - thanks!:

Went shopping with the girls after work while waiting to meet my friend for dinner. I bought Ipanema sandles from Novo. Not the normal ones, the Gisele Bundchen ones!:

I love them. I've been wanting to buy them for so long but didn't get around to doing it. They were on sale; I only paid $13.55 from the usual $30+.

Dinner was at Marche 'cos I was craving for it since all I had for the day was a corn cup from McDonald's. Kid's size. Because the McDonald's staff got the order wrong. -_- I didn't wanna eat too much and look ugly in my jumpsuit with a tummy, that's why! Rösti with smoked salmon and lots of onions:

Bratwursts:

Pork knuckles:

I told them I wanted pasta and they gave me this:

So obvious that's yellow noodles, hello? Pffftt. After dinner, I went shopping in VivoCity for an outfit for my mum because it was her birthday. Really it was a whole outfit, right down to the shoes. She was really happy with it. And I also bought these:

Barney music CDs! His songs make me smile but I can't seem to download them anywhere. I love Barney. Lastly, I have these:

Jason Mraz concert tickets. Yesssss. Ever since seeing his gig at Singfest last year, I've been hooked. He's amazing live. They're sold out, actually. Bought the "black market" ones from eBay. The girl bought it for $300 a pair, but I got it for double the price, $600!!!! Scary, isn't it? But it was a gift, though, so thank you! I'm going with Angel. 5th March! Cannot wait. Tomorrow I'm going to Wenqing's place to get clothes from her and to see her dogs. Meanwhile, Bike Asia on Friday and Saturday.

I'll be back. x
